Tech Influencers #1

The amount of content online is enormous, but not all content is created equal. Here are a few influencers worth checking out.

Having been ill last month, I was unable to continue writing here. I am currently preparing a series of tutorials on Playwright, Astro, and Godot. In the meantime, I suggest you check out some tech influencers I appreciate. You will find both French-speaking and English-speaking influencers, with the language specified for each of them.

Actualités technologiques

Fireship / Beyond Fireship (EN)

Jeff Delaney is a trainer, popularizer, and presenter of tech news, originally behind the YouTube channel Fireship, as well as the secondary channel Beyond Fireship. While his content was primarily focused on tutorials for Javascript, Python, and Google-related technologies such as Firebase and Flutter, he now mainly concentrates on tech news. His posting frequency has decreased, but his content remains just as good and relevant.

Dev Café (FR)

Édouard Marquez presents almost daily an episode of DevCafé, a ten-minute tech news digest. This Android and Flutter developer also occasionally offers other content, such as tutorials, but the channel is mainly focused on news. It's always a great way to start your day.

Dev Theory (FR)

Bryan Parasote offers on his channel a review of Javascript/Node news, along with numerous online courses. His news videos, about 10 to 15 minutes long, really help keep up to date with new libraries, frameworks, and updates to Node. Even though he no longer seems to provide training on his YouTube channel, he offers several courses online on Udemy and other platforms.

Web Dev

Joy of Code (EN)

Matija features on his channel Joy of Code an enormous amount of tutorials on web development, particularly on Svelte and SvelteKit. He also covers many other topics such as CSS, React, Git, among others, but he is one of the main content creators for Svelte. His tutorials are always interesting.

Game Dev

Voylin's GameDev Journey (EN)

Voylin is a Dutch-speaking Belgian who moved to Japan in 2020 and shares his progress on developing his video editor, GoZen. Although it's not really about video games, Voylin shows how he uses Godot, an open-source game engine, to build his software. His content, while less focused on video games, is very advanced and helps to better understand Godot. He notably demonstrates the integration of C++ libraries in Godot with GDExtension.

Hacking

ebola man (EN)

EbolaMan is a young YouTube channel that has reached nearly 100,000 subscribers in just 9 months, and for good reason: its content is well-explained, practical, and elucidates cybersecurity concepts effectively. Its popularity may be due to the fact that his videos appear malicious at first glance, but they actually explore very interesting technical aspects.

So, this is a first selection of creators; I will add more in a future post that will be linked to this one.
